Urla Vineyard House

A Vision of Living in Urla…

Conceived in close dialogue with nature, this garden in Urla offers a balanced way of life between productivity and tranquility. The red seating wall positioned at the front of the villa creates a strong visual statement, giving the space its character while acting as a guiding focal point. More than a boundary element, this defining feature functions as a threshold—welcoming, orienting, and shaping the identity of the place.

Beneath the shade of mature olive trees, children’s laughter echoes, and the memory of the space is rewritten each day. As the sun sets, life slows with the softening tones of light; shadows stretch, sounds quieten, and the garden takes on a more introspective atmosphere. This is not merely an outdoor space, but a living stage where memories are formed.

Throughout the day, the atmosphere transforms with the shifting light. Earth, water, and vegetation come together to create a layered sensory experience. Each corner invites the user into a different emotional state, while an underlying sense of continuity is maintained across the whole.

The garden’s design approach extends beyond purely aesthetic concerns, embracing a holistic framework that integrates function, ecology, and user experience. Beginning at the entrance, a linear axis supported by a water element guides the user through a natural flow toward the heart of the garden, reinforcing spatial continuity and a clear sense of direction.

The landscape language—composed of natural stone surfaces, permeable ground treatments, and native plant species—supports environmental sustainability while establishing a strong connection with its geographical context. Aromatic plants, seasonal color transitions, and textural diversity offer a layered sensory experience, while shaded areas, quiet seating corners, and a long table positioned by the water create social focal points that encourage interaction.

This composition supports a lifestyle intertwined with production, placing the relationship with nature at the center of everyday life—transforming each moment into a meaningful experience and allowing every use scenario to unfold with fluidity.
